This collection consists of papers of the Michigan Federation of Music Clubs, dating 1916-1978, and divided into seven sub-series. The first sub-series, minutes and reports of meetings (1972-75), contains correspondence, agendas, and budgets pertaining to the 56th and 58th annual conventions, and includes district and annual reports. The second sub-series, National Federation of Music Clubs (1971-78), offers background information on the national federation. The third sub-series, newsletters (1975-76), includes letters to club presidents and members, announcing meetings, projects, and exchange of ideas. The fourth sub-series, newspaper clippings (1974-75), reports the activities and performances of the clubs. The fifth sub-series, list of officers (1916-77), contains a list of past presidents of the M.F.M.C. and a list of Southwest District officers of 1974-75. The sixth sub-series, program of events (1973-75), includes programs of concerts, recitals, etc. The seventh sub-series, St. Cecilia Society (1974-75), contains programs and announcements of the St. Cecilia Society of Flint, Mich., a M.F.M.C branch and includes "The cadenza", newsletter of the Society.
